The Who, What, And Where (T. Scot Halpin)

“Can anybody out there play drums?”

Ranked eighth in “The Most Shocking Rock and Roll Moments” (an exploitation VH1 product), is the episode at the Cow Palace, when “The Who” drummer Keith Moon passed out, and was replaced by 19 year old audience member Scot Halpin.

The following is a video of Scot performing “Naked Eye”, with The Who at the Cow Palace in 1973.

For those of you (myself included) that first encountered Scot Halpin in virtual reality, while he was rescuing for eternity the bottom line of the Who performance, and wanted to know more about him: Where The Pieces Fall links you to his Memorial Blog.

Scot passed away in 2008, and his soul mate of 30 years Robin, has preserved, and has been sharing his musical and visual art on her/his memorial blog.

Scot talks about his experience as the drummer for The Who in an interview with NPR in 2006.
