I found Michael Perleman while i was doing a furtive Google search for economists with a Neo-Marxist perspective. That was two years ago. His blog Unsettling Economics then became for me a trusted source of information on this elliptical science.
When i contacted him, he took the time to respond to my query, and thus demonstrated how humanity transcends the economy of scale.

This guy is a total moron. What capitalist doesn’t factor in the cost of labor into production? If the capitalist doesn’t do this he goes out of business by selling his goods or services at a price less then the production of the same.
Why is it a crime to squeeze more out of workers and capital investments?
This is called efficiency gain and it’s what makes capitalism work!
When has Marxism ever worked better then capitalism? Never!
Maybe he should ask his Chinese Marxist friends about labor and capital investment. Maybe he should ask his liberal friends in the current-day garment manufacturing industry who have outsourced 95% of American garment manufactuing jobs to Asian countries.
It seems he wants to complain about these short comings and contradictions of capitalism and not do the same with Marxism which has for more drawbacks – look at Cuba.
mike: marxism is a tool to help us understand how capitalism works. dr. pereleman is considering the contradictions within the american economy, and if they are not addressed, a political crisis will spring out of it. if it will take a world war 3 to reset the global capitalist system.. i will prefer to be in cuba at that time. thanks for sharing your opinion.
