Now I’ll find Out If I Have Anything To Say
If you pay attention you will see and discover things that most people ignore. Last week i recorded Alina Brouwer for the Sineparade Minor Heroes proyect. Her father is Leo Brouwer the legendary composer. His compositions are performed all over the world every day. He wrote music for films as well as for guitar and orchestra. One of my favorite films is Memories of Underdevelopement, and Leo wrote the music for that film. That film was written and directed by Thomas Gutierrez Alea. Anyway, the next day i watched the video that i have of this movie, and i see this shot in the apartment of “Sergio”, who is the protaganist of the film. I immediately recognized a painting by Hugo Consuegra, and i took a picture of the film still (Now Showing). As some of you know, i am blogging unpublished Consuegra Works. What an awesome discovery i thought, but there was something else that i would discover. The next day in the studio with Roberto Poveda (my musical collaborator) after i told him of my discovery, he revealed to me that our drummer Alex Garcia is married to the daughter of Thomas Gutierrez Alea.
