John Cale’s appearance on “I’ve Got A Secret” in 1963, shortly after he participated in the marathon performance of Vexations, which was composed by Erik Satie. This first performance of Vexations at the Pocket Theatre in New York City, was organized by John Cage. Karl Schenzer was the only person who endured the entire 18 hour performance. At Where The Pieces Fall, we believe that Satie wrote this short chordal and repetitive tune to mock Wagnerism. Erik Satie was the first post-modern composer, and here we will refer to him as EsoteRIK SATIrE.
